"The z manifold design has problems with the 5th and 6th runners being two short causing 3 and 4. If that runner can be lengthened like ashs design it helps the manifold as a whole. Flow is only part of the equation." There's something about "directional flow" that just sounds right to me. While not very scientific, something I noticed while glass-beading my manis was when I blasted inside any tube, all of the beads exited out of the turbine flange... I tried this with a stock mani and had glass beads coming out of the other ports as well. From an 80/20 point of view, a log-style manifold easily accomplishes 80+% of the requirements, the only problem is making an equal length mainifold to find the other ~20% is a monumental undertaking, and the time-cost/performance ratio is dismal. In fact, the log-type ratio is probably closer to a 90/10 or 95/5. Until we start making 1000+RWHP on a regular basis, MS manis will probably suffice.
